Mansfield Jail Inmate Dies After Being Transported from the Fort Worth JailTuesday, October 10th, 2017
Ronald Scott passed away, on or about September 14, 2017, while in the custody of the Fort Worth Police Department. Information in this post was obtained from a custodial death report filed with the Texas State Attorney General’s Office by the Fort Worth Police Department.
Allegedly, on or about September 13, 2017, the Fort Worth Police Department received a call requesting a response to a convenience store on Berry Street. Mr. Scott was arrested for criminal mischief, public intoxication, and other issues. He also allegedly tested positive for heroine. Ambulance personnel were allegedly called to assess his condition, because he seemed groggy and disoriented. Emergency personnel allegedly advised that Mr. Scott was not suffering from a medical emergency and could be incarcerated. He was then transported to the city jail.
The following morning, on September 14, 2017, he was transported to the Mansfield jail and placed into a single cell. Approximately 8 1/2 hours later, he was found to be unresponsive by police officers. He was then transported to an area hospital and was pronounced as being deceased. We are only providing information in this post and do not allege that anyone did anything improper.
